About Northallerton

 

Northallerton is a historic market town in the vale of York, nestled in between the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. Northallerton is the county town of North Yorkshire and is close to the location of the historic Battle of the Standard, James Herriot country and Light water valley. We have a fabulous section of leaflets available for historic and modern attractions that are local and further a field.

Northallerton has a great variety of local and national chain shops. We have the wonderful Barkers department store, the world renowned Betty's tea room, the splendid Joe Cornish gallery and Lewis & Coopers who have offered local delicacies and gastronomic delights since 1899. We also have great chains such as Seasalt, Fatface, M&S food and a new Weatherspoons. At the TIC you can also find a bargain with our £1 book sale, donations are also welcome as we are a self funding, volunteer organisation.
